Believe you can and you’re halfway there.Theodore Roosevelt
So you want to know how to manifest? In this article, we are going to break down the 9 key steps to manifesting anything you want in life.
Ready to achieve your goals?
Let’s get into it!
What is manifestation?
Manifestation is about what you do and who you be that causes things to manifest,
to bring something to fruition,
to use your intention and belief to attract your desires.
What is manifestation not?
Manifestation is not sitting back and waiting for results to come to you.
You can’t expect things to come out of thin air without aligning your intention and belief with action.
Without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination.Fitzhugh Dodson
How to manifest anything you want – 9 steps
These steps are a recipe for manifesting your dreams. Take the time to intentionally manifest with this formula and you’ll be able to achieve so much more than you thought possible.
1. Dream big
We often set goals from within the context of our own lives. This means that we limit our possibilities to what we think we are capable of because of our past experiences.
For example, a sedentary person may want a fit and healthy body, so they work on manifesting themselves finishing a local 5k race. This is good, but it’s not great. This person is looking at the goal of being fit from within the context of their lives. They are not dreaming as big as they could be, and consequently, they are limiting their own future.
What if instead, this person forgets their past. What if they imagine their dream fit body, not one that is limited by their past experiences. What if they create a new possibility to aim big. This person could manifest running a marathon, doing handstands, becoming a yoga instructor.
People from every walk of life are capable of incredible things, you don’t need to look far to see real-world examples of that.
Setting big goals is the first step to manifesting your dream life. This is your life! Don’t settle.
2. Make sure that you want it
Visualise the outcome of your manifestation.
Make sure that you actually want the thing that you are manifesting. Make sure that it is important to you and that it aligns with what you want your life to be and how you want to be in life.
It is important that your goal comes from you, not a parent, a partner, or a societal pressure. The manifestation needs to be something that you are willing to commit true time and energy towards and something that you can joyously commit to once it is made manifest.
The health of the seed determines the fruit of the tree. If your intentions are clear and true, so too will be your outcome.
3. Feel the outcome of what you want to manifest
After you have decided what it is that you are manifesting, take a moment to meditate on what it will feel like when what you want comes to be. This helps you clarify the Why of your goals.
What feeling are you chasing? Happiness? Fulfilment? Calmness? Identify this feeling.
When you sit in the feeling of the outcome it will become clear if you’re manifesting something that doesn’t support you or isn’t in line with your core beliefs.
Identifying this feeling will also bring you back to the present whenever the going gets tough.
4. Write it down and tell a friend
Psychology professor Dr. Gail Matthews et al, at the Dominican University in California, led a study on goal-setting with 270 participants. The results of the study indicated that you are 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down.
Even more powerful, studies have shown that if you tell a friend about your goal, the likelihood of you achieving it goes up by 78%!
So go ahead and put your intention out there into the universe.
5. Be SMART
It is key that your goals are truly honed into the precise goal you want to achieve. It is no good setting a goal
|I want to be rich||Becomes||I want to earn X amount per month by X date|
|I want to make my family happy||Becomes||I want to take my family on a 10 day holiday to Italy by 2025|
|I want to have a fulfilling career||Becomes||I am going to be working in X industry in X position by X date|
|I want to get fit||Becomes||I am going to train for and run the 2023 London Marathon|
What all of the above revamped goals have in common is that they’re SMART. A SMART goal is:
SPECIFIC: Is the goal specific? Vague goals just won’t work.
MEASURABLE: Is the goal of the manifestation measurable?
ATTAINABLE: Is the goal actually attainable? Yes, it is important to dream big, but learning 6 languages in a year might be too much of a leap.
RELEVANT: It is important that what you are manifesting is in line with your values and that your goal actually matters to you.
TIMELY: Set a time frame for your manifestation to come to fruition.

6. Make a plan and stick to it
This part of manifesting is often overlooked. But it is crucial.
Creating a plan to manifest your dreams will keep you accountable. Work backwards from your goal and identify the steps that need to be taken to achieve it.
Stick to the plan as best you can but appreciate that life can be unpredictable. Plan so hard that you plan for things to derail. Envision potential obstacles, and create solutions to these obstacles.
7. Practice radical self love and kindness
Self love and manifestation are deeply linked. You can’t hate yourself into achieving your dreams.
If you don’t think you’re good enough for a dream, you will miss it. Your limiting beliefs can limit your vision too. And you can’t achieve your dreams if you can’t see the path to them, even if you follow all of the above steps.
You can only give and receive to the capacity at which you love yourself. Loving yourself in abundance becomes a magnet for the abundance in outward expression.
If you struggle with this, you can cultivate self love and kindness by:
1. Keeping a gratitude journal and writing down what you are grateful for every day.
2. Practice gratitude by reaching out to someone who has supported you and thanking them for what they have done.
3. Invest in yourself by practising self-care. Make yourself a nourishing meal, have a bubble bath, get therapy, do some exercising.
4. Look at yourself in the mirror in the morning and tell yourself out loud 10 things you like about yourself both physically and emotionally. This can feel really uncomfortable, but all the more reason to do it!
8. Look out for sinchronicities
Look out for signs from the universe that you are on the right path. When you manifest you will notice that things align in your favour.
This might look like meeting a new person with the same goal as you, an unexpected promotion, a strangely specific programme on the T.V.
Sure, you could chalk these synchronicities up to coincidence, but where’s the fun in that?! Instead, be open to the possibility that the universe is providing for you by supporting your manifestations.
One of my favourite books, Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist, talks about the importance of omens.
In order to find the treasure, you will have to follow the omens. God has prepared a path for everyone to follow. You just have to read the omens that he left for you.Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
9. Don’t be attatched to the outcome
When manifesting, you cannot be attached to the outcome. If you’re forcing it, it’s not going to work.
Trust that you will get there, pour your heart, soul, and work into your goal, but know that if your journey takes you to a different destination, it will be the right one. Surrender to the process.

why manifestation can be scary
We often undermine our dream life by calling it a “pipeline dream”.
Committing yourself fully to your dream life can be scary. You might feel like you’re setting yourself up for heartbreak if it falls through.
We like to hold our dreams at an arm’s length so as not to get hurt. But doing so will only ensure that they never come true.
Being scared to commit to our dreams only reveals the fact that we have limiting beliefs about ourselves. Practice identifying these limiting beliefs, challenging them, and daring to dream beyond them.
